What Makes A Man? - The Meaning Of Manhood

One of the things that most cultures and traditions share is this archetype of what manhood is. That there is a transition from boyhood to manhood that makes a boy into a man. And this transition is usually defined by being taught the “code of masculinity & manhood” by the father and other family members and cultural leaders. And then eventually, usually at a certain age such as 13 or 15, there will be some sort of rite of passage, some version of what we now like to call “the hero’s journey”, or some sort of cultural initiation for the coming of age of the child into adulthood. I talk about the concept of manhood, the transition from boyhood to manhood and what it means to become a man here in this video.
