On March 16, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy identified the suspect, 40-year-old Paul Smith, as wanted in a case involving battery by strangulation. Smith had a significant history of violence. Despite instructions to exit the vehicle, Smith refused and instead accelerated the vehicle.
