NBC26 Storm Shield Weather Forecast

If you want a taste of some milder weather, today is your day. We have a wind flow out of the southwest between 10 to 20 mph that is going to transport some milder air from the Central Plains. It is not a heat wave but highs will rise into the 40s to around 50° under mostly sunny skies. Enjoy the day today because another cold front is going to sweep through later tonight and that is going to cool our temperatures off for the next few days. Winds will shift out of the northwest tonight between 10 and 15 mph. Overnight low temperatures will go down into the lower 20s. We will see a few flurries behind this cold front but I don’t anticipate any snowfall accumulation. Thursday will be 5 degrees below average with highs in the lower to mid-30s. We can’t rule out a few flurries but most of the snowfall should be confined to the U.P. of Michigan and the eastern side of Lake Michigan. Highs continue in the mid 30s on Friday and then rebound to around 50° on Saturday for St. Patrick’s Day. Saturdays high will be the warmest of the next 7 days. Right now, it looks like the overall temperature trend is calling for below average values with below average precipitation.
