MTV Oy Logo History

MTV (Finland; not affiliated with MTV/Music Television) was launched as a programming block on 13th August 1957. MTV stands for Mainos-TV, which means Advertisement-TV/Commercial TV. Number 3 was added on 1st January 1993, when the channel was given the third nationwide television channel and it generally became known as "Channel Three" or "MTV3".
