Throughout time, they've been a go to breed, for their abundance of fat stored in their tails (similar to a camel ). Used to fuel fat lamps for💡ing & cooking. Less destructive than🐷🐽, super curly newborn fleeces were historically made into luxury Astrakhan hats, fleeces were also felted into shelters (gers,yurts, structures by other names , keeping them warm/safe during frigid winters), warm clothing/winter coats, multi purpose for home dairying as well...
