The Jewish concept of time is modeled after repeating patterns instead of a linear timeline. This concept explains why the Gospels do not follow the same chronology, as they were not written by Enlightenment Rationalist historians, but by theologians who saw in the patterns and types of the Hebrew Scriptures the fulfillment of them in Jesus Christ, and who were showing how Jesus was prefigured in the Torah.
