Statues that remind me of the moai

I've been noticing similarities in statues around the world and the moai of Easter Island. Though the moai are distinctive in appearance, there are other statues around the world that depict people with large brows, big noses, and sometimes even arms pointing towards their navels. Coincidence or not?
