How to make Pan cake
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make pancakes from scratch:
Gather Your Ingredients:
All-purpose flour
Sugar
Salt
Baking powder
Baking soda
Milk
Vegetable oil or melted butter
Vanilla extract
Apple cider vinegar
Eggs
Whipped salted butter (for cooking and serving)
Maple syrup or any desired toppings
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
Whisk the dry ingredients together until well combined, ensuring there are no lumps.
Prepare Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, mix together 1 1/4 cups of milk, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil or melted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 2 eggs.
Whisk the wet ingredients until fully combined, ensuring the eggs are well beaten.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
Gently fold the mixture together until just combined. It's okay if there are some small lumps remaining; avoid overmixing.
Heat the Griddle or Pan:
Preheat a non-stick griddle or frying pan over medium heat. You can also lightly grease the surface with butter or oil.
Cook the Pancakes:
Once the griddle or pan is hot, pour a ladleful of pancake batter onto the cooking surface.
Cook the pancakes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to look set, typically around 2-3 minutes.
Flip and Cook the Other Side:
Carefully flip the pancakes using a spatula when the bubbles begin to burst and the bottom is golden brown.
Cook the pancakes on the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve and Enjoy:
Transfer the cooked pancakes to a plate.
Serve them warm with a generous knob of salted whipped butter and maple syrup or any desired toppings.
