You may have thought that this over-the-counter food supplement is just a wonderful antioxidant. You are wrong about that! Alpha lipoic acid IS an antioxidant, but at the same time, it is a powerful, fat-soluble mercury chelator. You must keep that in mind if you wish to use it.
