They are the Immune "System"

I always wondered why we were told from a young age that we need to build trust in an immune system, when in the end as we become old it forgets what it's meant to do.

So "what you believe", is an immune system exists, and while the system is designed to protect, it can also harm !!

The question is, who does the immune system protect and who does the immune system harm ?
