Captured AFU serviceman: 'We shouldn't have gone for it. The nation is disappearing!'

14.03.24 - Ukrainian serviceman Sergei Pavlyuk, who was captured near Avdeyevka, told about the futility of resistance and the retreat of the AFU units.

According to the prisoner, Russian servicemen were continuously shelling AFU positions. As a result of which the Ukrainian commanders decided to retreat: 'During the retreat I injured my leg, and my fellow servicemen decided that they could not go far with me. They simply left me to my fate. They did the same to those who were wounded.'

Sergei Pavlyuk hid in the ruins of one of the buildings, and then was captured. 'I just raised my hands and came out of hiding. I did not resist. They treated me well, gave me some water, food, and necessary medication,' - said the POW. Source
