The Russian envoy to India, Denis Alipov, reacted to allegations that India is ditching Moscow to buy weapons from western countries. Speaking with TASS, Alipov said that India has already produced almost 1,000 T-90 main battle tanks and 300 Su-30MKI fighter jets under Russian licences and actively develops joint arms production with Russia. He added that "Russia-India relations are a privileged strategic partnership bolstered by the groundwork laid decades ago and mutual trust between the two nations. The Russian envoy's reaction came after SIPRI's report said, "Russia remained India's main arms supplier, accounting for 36% of its arms imports, but it is less than half of India's arms imports."
