The Lake District near Keswick & Penrith have the 2nd & 3rd largest stone circles in England (after Stonehenge)
see - Long Meg and her Daughters near Penrith (free to visit, on private land, so be respectful).

Castlerigg - just outside Keswick the 3rd largest , owned by English Heritage (but free to access). known locally as Druid's Circle, also called Keswick Carles & one of the oldeset (5 thousand years old it is believed).

Also near Long meg is the lesser known little meg, originally thought to be a cairn, with a carved stone, on private land in a farmers field.
