Air Zonk is a 1992 side-scrolling shooter game for the TurboGrafx-16. It's a spin-off of the Bonk series, and is set in a cyberpunk-esque future. The game features a modern, punkish character named Zonk, who is a cyborg descendant of Bonk. Zonk can merge with his teammates to use unique weapons. In Air Zonk, Zonk gathers his friends to form Team Cool. They set out to stop King Drool's plan to conquer the World. King Drool has sent forth powerful cyber robots to carry out his evil designs. Air Zonk has five levels. The game features a variety of weapons and levels.
Air Zonk was developed by Red Company and published by Hudson Soft and Konami. It was released for the PC Engine in 1992, and for the Virtual Console in 2007.

Story
On April 4, 2999, the evil scientist Count King Tamago Sandrovich performed a remodeling operation on Genhead in order to act as a trump card for the ZZ project (Earth Evil Deterioration Plan), modeling him after the strongest rival Bonk who afflicted his ancestor King Drool. Thus, he was named Zonk. Recognizing the Count's ZZ plan, Zonk escapes from the laboratory, forms a family of electricians (Punkic Cyborgs) with his friends, and confronts the count's cyber robot army.
