Splatterhouse 2 is a 2D, side-scrolling, beat 'em up video game released in 1992 for the Sega Genesis. The game is a sequel to the 1988 arcade game Splatterhouse and is the second installment in the Splatterhouse series.
In Splatterhouse 2, players take on the role of Rick Taylor who must fight through grotesque environments filled with monsters to rescue his girlfriend Jennifer. The game has eight two-dimensional stages, each with a similar gameplay style to the first game. Players can punch, kick, jump kick, and slide kick, and use weapons scattered throughout the levels.
In the game, three months have passed since the events of the first game. The Terror Mask calls to Rick and tempts him to "go back to the house", telling him that Jennifer "doesn't have to die".
