Chansley pleaded guilty in September 2021 to a single count of obstructing an official proceeding before Congress and was sentenced to 41 months in prison - he served only part of his sentence before being released. Chansley was given all organic food while in prison after refusing to eat the regular food on offer. Chansley became the face of the violent 6 January attack on the US Capitol because of his outlandish costume that day. The corrupt one-party Government Accountability Office said that 114 law enforcement officers were injured on 6 January and that pro-Trump rioters viciously beat them as they stormed the Capitol that day.
