How to accept Jesus into your heart and have a personal relationship with Him:

God’s Plan and Purpose For You

Jeremiah 1:5 KJV says “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

God ordained your existence and before you were ever born, He put in place your story in His good plan. God wants a relationship with you and He makes it possible through Jesus Christ. John 3:16 KJV says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭The most important decision you will ever make is to follow Jesus. Following Jesus will give you purpose and meaning in life. So often, we look for the meaning of life in places and materialistic things hoping to find love, acceptance, peace, and direction. In John 6:35 KJV “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” It is through Jesus alone that we find our purpose, our love, our acceptance, and our peace. In John 14:27 KJV Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

We are called to be God’s light of the world. In John 8:12 KJV, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” God’s plan is for you to live with him in Heaven. Before Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3), they had a good relationship with God. They were not ashamed. But after they sinned, they became ashamed to be in God’s presence. Sin separated them, and everyone else-including you-from God. Through his grace, God gave us a way to live with him forever in Heaven- through the cross and the sacrifice-the ultimate payment- paid by Jesus for the sins of all people. Jesus was the only person to live a sinless life. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death (Luke 24:1-8). He ascended to heaven (Luke 24:50-53) and sits at the right hand of God (Acts 7:55-56; Romans 8:34; Ephesians 1:20; Hebrews 1:3) and will return again one day soon to reign as King of King and Lord of Lord over all the earth and he will do away with sin and evil once and for all (Revelation 21).

In order to have a personal relationship with Jesus you must first recognize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 KJV says “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Everyone is a sinner. There is not one righteous person (Romans 3:10). Because of this, the penalty of sin is death. No amount of hard work, good deeds, or money given can get you into Heaven. It is through God’s free gift of Jesus Christ on the cross to everyone who believes in Him that we will experience eternal life with God. If you confess your sins and turn from your wicked ways, God will forgive you and give you eternal life.

To ask Jesus into your heart and to make Him your personal Lord and Savior, you must first ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Pray this simple prayer:

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry. Thank you for being the perfect sacrifice to cover the sins of all people including me. I believe in you and I believe that God sent you to die on the cross for my sins. I believe that you died and rose again on the third day and that you are coming back one day soon to rule over the earth. Come into my heart and be Lord over my life. Give me peace and purpose and teach me to further Your Kingdom for Your glory. Amen.”
