Driver escapes truck as it rolls off cliff

If you’re in a truck that’s hanging over the side of a cliff, you must start to think ‘at least it can’t get any worse.’ That’s a bad idea, because this footage from Türkiye shows that there’s always another twist round the next corner.

The truck got into difficulty while at an excavation site in the Sultangazi district, and ended up teetering precariously over a cliff edge.

In footage captured by a witness, rescuers promptly arrive and attach a tow rope to the truck, pulling it to safety. At that moment, the rescue rope breaks and the truck rolls back towards the cliff, with the driver still inside.

With milliseconds to spare, the driver manages to leap out of his cab, just as the truck plunges off the cliff, and has somehow lived to tell the tale. The truck was not so lucky.
