Copper is a sporty 1-year-old chocolate male Pit Bull and Mastiff mix puppy who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on June 27th. Weighing 80 lbs, Copper is a stunning boy who is total “best buddy” material! With his adorably enormous head, brindle undercoat, and white crest on his chest, he is one dashing dude! Copper has passed his shelter-administered temperament test. Now, he is ready to meet his forever family and learn the socialization and training basics all young ones need to grow into the best canine citizens they can be. He already happens to walk capably on leash, but he could use additional training to ensure he and his human are in tandem on their walks together. Since he is a strong guy with an active and sporty energy level, Copper will fit best as a member of a breed-experienced household that also relishes plenty of activity and sport—taking him along on all of their daily adventures. Though we haven’t seen him interact with other dogs here at the shelter much, Copper does seem to show interest in them. But he should (of course) be properly introduced to other dogs in the future to ensure that his size doesn’t scare away any potential friends. Copper will be a fun and rewarding indoor pet for any individual or family with kids old enough to teach him how to play fetch!
