In this video, I explain why the reductionist view that counting calories is the key to fat loss is extremely misguided. I discuss the different effects of the macronutrients on metabolic function, including the differences between individual amino acids such as leucine, I discuss some of the effects of individual micronutrients, like zinc, selenium, iron, and vitamin D, and I discuss some of the metabolic effects of calorie-less consumables like capsaicin, tea, and vinegar.
