Marlene Eddleman Deaton Shares About Golden Rule Ranch

Marlene Eddleman Deaton, who was Marlene Frederick, shares about living at the ranch house at the Golden Rule Ranch about 1942. This ranch on Sand Creek would later be purchased by Chuck Bowen's grandparents in 1948. The following year his parents bought adjacent land on the creek. On this ranch, Chuck and his wife Sheri discovered the Lost Sand Creek Site, the actual location of the 1864 Sand Creek battle location in what was Colorado Territory. All of the artifacts Chuck and Sheri found started about two miles up the creek from where the Sand Creek Battle Ground monument stood.
