Affectionate girl has unconditional love for her snarky cat

Here is the whole adorable story: What is unconditional love? It’s something every parent has for their child, that much I know. It’s also something little girls have for cats. Even cats that don’t love them, or anyone, back. Well, that’s a bit of a lie. The cat likes ME, of all people. I was a cat person my whole life… up until we got a dog, and then, yeah. I became a dog person. I still like cats, but the fact that this one only likes me is annoying since we got her specifically for my daughter.

She’s a rescue, too. She was found on the street in the cold. So, we adopted her from our local shelter. She was fine as a kitten, but then she just… shifted one day. It went from a normal kitten to a “Screw you humans” cat that, as stated in the video, lives under the bed. Then, when I’m the only one awake, she comes out and sits by me on the couch. And yet, all my daughter wants to do is love her until the cat loves her back.

Like our old cat did.

I’m not holding my breath, but it would be nice if this one reverted to how she was as a kitten.
