A two-alarm fire engulfed an Ohio Department of Transportation garage and damaged several salt trucks at about 8 p.m. Tuesday on old U.S. Route 52. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with an eye injury. New Richmond Fire Chief Vince Bee said he wasn't sure how long it'll take to replace the salt trucks or how much it will cost, but with spring on the way, he added that he's not too concerned about a major impact on the community in the short term. "We were able to make an aggressive attack of the fire and get it under control in a relatively quickly manner for the amount of fire that we had going on," Bee said. Investigators are just beginning to look into what caused last night’s blaze.
