BOM Manipulated Temperature Records To Show False Temperature Increase

- The BOM manipulates observations into new datasets in order to give a false impression that the temperature is increasing.
- In the recent round of estimates I asked the BOM if they acknowledged that their homogenisation artificially increased the temperature rise of the last 100 years.
- They lied in their reply by saying that if they didn’t homogenise their records the increase would have been bigger.
- This was a blatant lie.
- C7 of the Independent Peer Review points out the Bureau homogenised (fudged) temperatures down prior to 1940. There is also a table at the bottom of page 29 in the ACORN2 report that shows the homogenisation dataset has lifted the original mean observations by 0.43 degrees.
- It’s worth noting as well that the boxes (called Stevenson screens) that the thermometers are stored in have decreased in size as well.
- Another independent peer review (see link in comments) showed the new smaller screens increased recorded temperatures by 0.54 degrees on average over the course of a year with mean temperatures increasing by up to 0.92 degrees in summer.
- These two changes alone have increased the recorded increase in temperature by 1 whole degree which has nothing to do with climate change.
- Thermometers have also changed with the new platinum resistor thermometers showing higher temperatures than the old mercury ones.
- Unsurprisingly the BOM failed to do a robust parallel run when changing its equipment knowing that temperatures would read higher as a result.
- BOM executives were recently chided by a Federal Court Judge for lying.
