Dead Boeing whistleblower exposes Boeing's inadequate safety measures
Update 6 May 2024:
Second Boeing whistleblower dies after raising concerns about 737 MAX.
Joshua Dean, a former quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems, went public with claims that the company’s leadership ignored manufacturing defects in Boeing’s 737 MAX. Spirit AeroSystems is a Boeing supplier.
Dean, 45, had an active lifestyle and was believed to be in good health prior to his “sudden” death on Tuesday, following the onset of a fast-moving infection. He was stricken with Influenza B and MRSA, and developed pneumonia, according to Fox59.

Boeing Whistleblower John Barnett:
This is not a 737 problem. This is a Boeing problem. Back in 2012, Boeing started removing inspection operations off the jobs.
My concerns are with the 737 and 787 because those programs have really put in a strong effort to remove quality from the process.
When I worked at Charleston, my job was pushing back defects to suppliers. I would take inspectors to the actual supplier to inspect the product before they sent it in.
I took a team of 4 inspectors to Spirit Aerosystems to inspect the 41 section (fuselage) before they sent it to Charleston and we found 300 defects. Some of them were significant that needed engineering intervention. When I returned to Charleston, my senior manager told me that we found too many defects. And he was going to take the next trip.
He took 2 inspectors with him on the next trip and they were given accolades for only finding 50 defects. So, I took an inspector aside and asked, ’Did Spirit really clean up their act that quick? It don’t sound right.’
She was really mad and said no. The inspectors were given 2 hours to inspect the whole 41 section and they were kicked off the aeroplane.

Note: The fuselage section 41 extends from the nose to just behind the cockpit windows.
Boeing South Carolina is an airplane assembly facility built by Boeing in North Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Located on the grounds of the joint-use Charleston Air Force Base and Charleston International Airport, the site is the final assembly and delivery point for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. (Wiki)
Condolences to John Barnett's family and friends for their loss. I hope the criminals responsible are arrested and charged with his murder.
