Army Guard identifies two killed in helicopter crash at the border

The U.S. Army has officially identified the two National Guard warrant officers who lost their lives in a recent helicopter crash near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Frankoski, aged 28, hailing from Rensselaer, New York, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Grassia, aged 30, from Schenectady, New York, tragically perished in the incident.

The crash involving their UH-72 Lakota helicopter occurred near Rio Grande City, Texas, at 2:50 p.m. on March 8.

Both officers were members of Detachment 2, Company A, 1st of the 224th Aviation Regiment, New York Army National Guard.

Border Patrol Agent Chris Luna, aged 49, also lost his life in the same tragic incident, the Army Times is reporting.
