Jeremy Hurt started Red Bike Delivery in an effort to help Lansing minimize carbon emissions: instead of using food delivery apps that rely on cars, consumers can order on Red Bike Delivery's website and have their food delivered by bike instead. In addition to helping the environment, Hurt is setting his sights on ameliorating the situation of food deserts, areas with limited access to nutritious food. He also said in a statement to WLNS that he is trying to create a program in which people can purchase deliveries for those that cannot afford it.
