Old Rusty Axe Restoration

In this video, I'm going to restore an antique axe.
I used many techniques in the restoration of this rusty axe. I blackened the rusty axe head. I made the new handle out of ebony, which now revealed a completely super sweet silk gloss axe. Restoring the old axe I had to grind, file, remove rust, harden, electrolysis and saw. This old hand tool I found from one of my subscribers and wanted it badly. This video is not only to quickly show someone something but also to relax and escape from everyday life!

▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The axe head was extremely rusted, so I started with brushing the loose rust and dust. The remaining rust I removed with an electrolysis process because the result was satisfactory. after rinsing with water I used a wire wheel to remove the oxide layer on the axen head surface. then I apply oil against rust because electrolysis parts are very likely to rust. Filling the welding marks from the axe head with the file. The eye is not aligned with the cutting edge.so I filled the eye aligned to the axe head.

Afterwards, I made the rough contour with an angle grinder using flap disc, fibre disc, stripping disc, I sanded all sides until almost no pitting was visible, up to a grit of 600. In the hardening furnace, I now heated the axe to 820°C and quenched it in oil but I use water quenching. To honour the high quality of this axe I decided to etch the name 'Restoration Circle' back on the axe head. I used a classic font and placed it on the upper side of the back.
The new wooden handle is made of ebony. Now, all that was left was to assemble everything and the super sweet silk gloss axe was ready.

▬ Good to know ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I used the following tools: Wire brush, rust remover spray, angle grinder, laboratory power supply, glass container, abrasive corundum, flap disc, fibre disc, stripping disc, file, sandpaper, hardening furnace, blacksmith tongs, immersion heater, cleaner, pencil, scroll saw, Japanese saw, jigsaw, wood file, leather strap
I hope you enjoy the video!
I am happy to receive your feedback, advice, suggestions to improve myself.
