The Egoz commando unit is continuing operations at the Hamad Town

The Egoz commando unit is continuing operations at the Hamad Town residential complex in southern Gaza Khan Younis, where the IDF says troops have killed dozens of Hamas gunmen recently.

The IDF says the commandos have captured several more Hamas operatives who surrendered to troops.

In one engagement, the IDF says the Egoz soldiers came under fire while searching a building. The troops, using a drone, spotted the gunman and returned fire.

The soldiers also launched a shoulder-fired missile at an apartment where the gunman was hiding, killing him, while a mother and two children were in an adjacent room, the IDF says.

Two more gunmen were killed and another was captured in the incident.

The mother and two children were later rescued from the building, and treated by army medics.
