Have I Not TOLD You

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:9)

"The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward! Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea."
(Exodus 14:15-16)

I don't know about you, but I can remember as a child being asked by my father and at times my mother, "Didn't I tell you..", then they would remind me of what they'd instructed. Usually when that question was posed it was because I had done a thing or failed to do a thing that they had told me to do and they had also told me of the consequences - good and bad - of what to expect if I obeyed as well as if I disobeyed. The choice was mine to make and the results of the choice was also mine to receive because of my choice.

God makes it very clear throughout His Word - IF WE OBEY HIM WE CAN EXPECT HIS BLESSINGS, HIS APPROVALS, HIS PEACE; however, if we don't we end up reaping the consequences of disobedience and risk, at the very least, a firm, loving rebuke and correction from our LORD and ABBA!

I don't always get it right, but I've learned to get it right more often than not. I'm not perfect, but, I acknowledge that He who IS PERFECT corrects me because HE LOVES ME AND WANTS ME TO THRIVE, NOT MERELY SURVIVE; TO LIVE AND NOT DIE - TO BE BLESSED AND NOT CURSED! And God, Our Father, wants that same for each of His Children. Amen!
