In April 2000, over a year before the September 11 attacks, Larry Silverstein held a meeting to discuss plans to replace World Trade Center Building 7. This meeting was revealed during a 2014 speech which Silverstein gave to a pro-Israel group which has not been widely circulated.

“We got the designs. And the first design meeting was in April of 2000. And construction began shortly thereafter, in 2002.”

Larry Silverstein - Chairman of Silverstein Properties, a real estate development and investment company headquartered in Manhattan. The company owned and managed projects for offices, hotels and commerce totaling over 32 thousand square meters. The company is currently developing assets worth about 8 billion dollars.

Mr. Silverstein currently serves as a board member of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. He is an avid lover of classical music, an experienced yachtsman and a proud resident of New York City.

Clara and Larry Silverstein have been married for 58 years and have three children, some of whom work at Silverstein Properties.
