Tech Upgrade Gift Transforms World - Far Zooms & Close-Ups (without taking my word for them)!

Almost speechless. (ME?) I AM JUST LEARNING but already a sea change in quality. What a difference the right tech can make. Just the thumbnail of the longhorns is a better image than if I was standing right there INSTEAD OF AT LEAST 800 TO A THOUSAND YARDS AWAY! They'd be brown and black circled blurs with The Old. Stunning. Same with the close-ups.

NOTE THE LEARNING CURVE AGAIN ... the Marsh Hawks (Northern Harriers) flying around at same time were an unexpected challenge. I was fumbling with controls; making mistake of zooming in too much and losing sight of small target. Honestly I just tried best guess using treeline cues but when subject was caught in frame, the results are fantastic. Most of the zoom capability was not used vs something sitting still. Yet UTTERLY STUNNING ...

... is the attempts at capturing images when they flew up to altitude. And became little dots. The last shot in that sequence caught one at full or almost full zoom and CLEARLY seen. Very pleased with the close-ups as well. Manual tries on the Praying Mantis egg cases for comparison and, if okay, official iNaturalist observation posting. Yeah, the old shots were enough to ID what the hell the thing is, but this new camera brings out every sordid, creepy detail.

In summary? TALLY-HO! Complex feature orientation continues but obviously have the potential now to see a lot of things BETTER. Thank you, Js! (Yes, I respect my friends' privacy and didn't use their nice portrait that was included on the memory card).
