Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?

Psalm 22 is a Messianic Psalm. It is a psalm that was written by David, the king of Israel, over a 1,000 years before Jesus Christ was incarnated here on earth. The psalm is not about David, there are no parallels to David’s life found in Psalm 22. It is truly a prophetic psalm, pointing the singer to sing of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which was not a means of execution during David’s time. This psalm spans the time of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion on the cross to His resurrection on the third day.
