The Philadelphia Experiment is a widely circulated conspiracy theory that alleges the US Navy conducted a secret experiment in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during World War II. According to the story, the Navy supposedly attempted to render the USS Eldridge, a destroyer escort, invisible to enemy radar by using a technique called "electromagnetic cloaking."
