Three Cranes Scare Alligator Back Into Water

When it comes to animals that one might consider scary and the king of their neighborhood, alligators come pretty close to the top.

We weren't sure why the alligator would be so cowed by a trio of cranes so we did a modicum of research. It turns out that for the most part, alligators or nonconfrontational. Obviously, they will attack other creatures or feed upon other creatures when hungry. Most alligator attacks occur during mating season when gators or more hormonally aggressive and attempting to protect their mating zones. Also, and we did not know this but alligators prefer to eat smaller creatures like raccoons, birds and fish. They are also afraid of humans and other creatures they perceive to be large. So, why would the relatively small gator in this video be afraid of the cranes. Our hypothesis is that the cranes made themselves appear larger and that the gator just did not want to engage.
