Thurston County, Washington — On March 6, 2024, at around 8:00 a.m., Thurston County deputies conducted a traffic stop off Rich Rd SE. The passenger exited the vehicle, and the driver, 29-year-old gave a false name. The driver fled, and deputies established reasonable suspicion for DUI and a pursuit was authorized. The truck fled through Lacey, and then onto the Chehalis Western trail at speeds of more than 60mph. Citizens on the trail were able to see and hear the lights and sirens and get out of the way. The truck then exited onto 26th Ave NE where a PIT maneuver was successful. The truck spun around into a mud field, then accelerated into reverse into a private driveway where he struck an unoccupied travel trailer. A deputy quickly pinned the truck in as it was still trying to flee. The driver was combative and refused to show his hands or surrender. The vehicle window was broken out and a taser was deployed as the driver had the truck in drive and the wheels spinning trying to flee.

The suspect was forcefully removed from the truck and detained. Drug paraphernalia was located in the truck. At the end of the pursuit, the suspect caused a low impact collision between two uninvolved motorists trying to get out of his way. Those victims are being evaluated, but appear to be okay. The driver had an active warrant out of Thurston Superior Court for attempting to elude, assault on law enforcement with a deadly weapon, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He has been arrested for new charges which include another attempt to elude and DUI narcotics. The vehicle the man was driving had extensive history with prior eluding as recent as last week where a different man who was a convicted felon and known to steal cars was arrested out of it in possession of a gun. That individual is already back out of TCSO jail despite having been booked 14 times in TCSO jail alone with numerous pending cases in Superior Court
