This heartwarming clip allows us to take a quick peek into lion cub’s lives. From the day they are born to the day they meet their father, the leader of their pride. Watch this video and find out more!

Six weeks after they are born, lion cubs reach a milestone and become strong enough to keep up with their mother, which means it is time to leave the den. The world is new to these adorable little cubs, and it is time to meet the other members of the pride. Moreover, the cubs seek one member’s approval above all. They have never seen a male lion, so instinctively they show caution and respect.

Footage shows the very first encounter the male lion Mfumu has with its offsprings. Watch as one of the cubs touches lion’s head with a gentle head tilt, to which the male lion wakes up and shares a long eye-to-eye contact with the little cubs. It is the moment of truth! Lion King all over the place!

Simple tolerance is the badge of entry and the little cubs are now members of the pride. The true male resents young arrivals in order to show dominance and receive respect, being pride’s supreme leader!

In addition, the cubs will nurse until they reach seven months of age after which they are ready to hunt and eat meat. After days without food their mother starts to crave protein. It is the sound of the dinner bell, the pride has to make a kill!
