Presidential palace attacked in Haiti amid spike in gang violence - reports

Haitian gangs have reportedly carried out a large-scale attack on the presidential palace, which has not been occupied by any head of state since President Jovenel Moyse was assassinated in 2021. The site has nevertheless remained guarded 'round the clock.

Meanwhile, a prison break earlier this week resulted in a mass escape of thousands of inmates, with many returning to their gangs.
