In 2004, American was approaching an election after four years of Republican G.W. Bush's presidency , and several years into the "War On Terror" after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.

During this era, you would be hard pressed to find a voice from within the legacy mainstream media that went against the grain and didn't support the war.

Fox News, being a right wing biased outlet, was championing their unwavering support for both Bush, and the War On Terror

While the situations have changed, Outfoxed is a great documentary to demonstrate exactly how intertwined the media and the government actually are, how the media crafts opinions by framing facts and blending them with opinion, and how the media takes their talking points directly from D.C.

While this documentary focuses on Rupert Murdoch, News Corp, and Fox News, the same tactics discussed apply equally to legacy media outlets from both sides of the isle.
