When 2 or more pray | A misused verse #bibletalk

When 2 or more pray God gives you what you are praying for...not so fast.

This was a scripture we heard used when we were caught up in LOA/manifesting when people would use scripture to support it.

Look closer at this verse and the context.

Open your Bible to Matthew 18 and read the whole chapter.

This 2 or more being a witness goes back to the OT in Deuteronomy 19:15

Then come back to verses 19 - 20 in Matthew 18

Do you see?

This is about Jesus helping us bring lost sheep back, to discipline, to help believers that are struggling with sin.

Yes, prayer is important.
Yes, praying with others and for others is important.

Believers are called to lead the lost back to Jesus so He can restore them.

Look how this chapter starts and ends.

What is it about?

Coming into an agreement under the truth of God's word, to humble ourselves, to forgive one another, to see we all sin and need to help one another when we are caught in sin...to bring the lost sheep back to Jesus.
