China's Two Sessions Sets a GDP Target of 5% and Increases the Military Budget by 7.2%

The CCP has set the GDP growth target for 2024 at 5%, plans to increase the defense spending budget by 7.2%, and also hopes to deal with the problems of low birth rate and population aging. However, since 2023, China has been facing weak consumer and business confidence, foreign capital flight, and a real estate debt crisis. Therefore, it is difficult for China to achieve its goals this year.
