Mexican Casserole Recipe - Marching Into Casseroles

The farmer and I were at his cousin's house one evening and were offered this delicious casserole at supper time. The farmer is not one to like casseroles, but this one was a hit with him, so I knew I had to share it with all of you! With permession of the family, I will include the recipe below. Mexican Casserole Recipe:
1# ground beef
1 medium onion
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 can (15 oz.)tomato sauce
1 tsp. chilli powder
1/4 tsp. cumin
1 can (4oz) green chilies, drained & chopped
3 cups corn strips
1 can (10- 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Brown meat, onion, and garlic - drain. Stir in tomato sauce, seasonings and chiles. Layer 2 cups corn chips and half each of meat mixture, soup, & cheese. Sprinkle with remaining corn chips. Bake uncovered at 375* until hot, possibly 20-30 minutes.
