Moon Man - 2022 - Movie Clip

Dugu Yue, a former flight dynamics engineer, takes on a new role as a maintenance worker for Project United Nations Moon Shield (UNMS), led by the Chinese government to safeguard Earth from an asteroid named "π". Despite the successful deployment of Cosmic Strike Hammers, designed to shatter the asteroid, a solar storm throws one missile off course, endangering the UNMS Moon station. In the chaos of evacuation, Yue is left behind and witnesses the devastation as asteroid fragments hit Earth.

Believing himself to be the sole survivor, Yue develops feelings for Ma Lanxing, his base commander, unaware that she and others are monitoring him. Meanwhile, a portion of humanity survives underground, but Earth faces dire conditions due to a global dust cloud. To boost morale, UNMS chairman Sun Guangyang proposes portraying Yue as a symbol of hope through a livestream.

Yue discovers he's not alone when he encounters King Kong Roo, a kangaroo left behind by UNMS researchers. Initial attempts to depict Yue as a survivor go awry as he and Kong clash over resources. However, Yue hears static indicating potential survivors on Earth, prompting him to repair equipment to return home.

With Kong, Yue embarks on a journey to retrieve the needed prototype. Despite setbacks, they succeed and Yue reconnects with humanity, gaining support in his mission. He confesses his feelings to Lanxing, who apologizes for his abandonment.

Yue completes the liftoff module but learns of another asteroid fragment, "π+", threatening Earth. Despite setbacks, Yue sacrifices himself to ensure humanity's survival. Years later, civilization flourishes again, and Lanxing reflects on Yue's sacrifice as they watch "π+" form a celestial ring around Earth.
