MASSIVE Budget for James Gunn Superman is a Huge Risk For the DCU

Principle photography has begun for the new James Gunn DCU and it's flagship project, the formerly titled Superman: Legacy. Now going as simply Superman, as announced by Gunn (alongside a log reveal), he has also had to contend with the budget of the film being publicly revealed.

If the tax filings are correct, the maiden voyage of the DCU is on track to be the second most expensive superhero film in history. As if this film wasn't facing enough problems, now it has to become the best performing DC film in about a decade... just to break even!

I hope it's tremendous, but all the warning signs are there that this is going to be a spectacular and costly bomb.
