Zhang Xiaoming Removed as Deputy Secretary General of CPPCC

03/03/2024 WION: Jiang Xiaoming has been removed from his position as the Deputy Secretary General of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC). The decision was announced at the end of a two-day meeting of the CPPCC. No reason has been given for his removal. Zhang has been working for over 3 decades in Hong Kong. He became director of the Hong Kong and Macau office in 2017. However, his term was rocked by anti-government protests in 2019.
