A BBC Radio historical whodunnit by Peter Lovesey, adapted for radio by Geoffrey M. Matthews, featuring the fictional version of the "Playboy Prince of wales" who would one day become King Edward VIII of England ... but who, before he became King, also had a profession quite unknown to the public ... that of amateur detective!

The year is 1901. "Bertie" has arrived in Paris for some fun and games with his good friend, the famous and notorious actress Sarah Bernhardt..

However, upon hearing of a murder in the Moulin Rouge in Montmartre involving an old acquaintance of his, "Bertie" immediately takes up the case, and he and Sarah begin an investigation to uncover the truth.

1891: There's a fatal shooting at the Moulin Rouge nightclub in Montmartre.

Bertie, the Prince of Wales - and future King Edward VII - has just arrived in Paris and loves to get involved in a spot of amateur sleuthing.

So, he embarks on an investigation, which takes him through the streets of Paris alongside his famous and glamorous actress companion - Sarah Bernhardt.
