No Contact Epidemic: Is Therapy Helping or Hurting??

It appears that Gen Z and Gen Alpha are being influenced to become estranged from their parents as part of epidemic of going "No contact". They claim it's to save their mental health, and stand up to emotional abuse and narcissism - and they insist that there is no way that they could be influenced to make such drastic decisions simply because it's something that has skyrocketed in popularity on TikTok.

The hashtags of "Toxic Family" and "No Contact" have billions of views and likes on social media, and it's now driving people toward the therapists who are advising young adults who are questioning whether or not their childhood experiences constitute a reason to ghost their own parents.

As much as we want to believe that going to a therapist would be a way to guide them down the healthiest path in life - it seems as though some of the advice that these TikTok therapists are giving is a little bit concerning. The terms and definitions they use are vague, and they leave little room for *anyone* to be disqualified from having a reason to cut off their parents.
