Two Canadian postal workers, who faced unpaid leave for refusing the COVID-19 jab, are now part of a lawsuit against Canada Post and the federal government. They've joined The Canadian Independent to share their story.

More than 250 Canadian postal workers across the country, who chose not to disclose their COVID-19 vaccine status and subsequently faced unpaid leave, have united under the banner "Posties Hold the Line."

Members of the Posties Hold the Line group are active plaintiffs in a lawsuit initiated in July 2022 by Leighton Grey of Grey Wowk Spencer LLP. This legal action targets Canada Post and the Government of Canada, challenging the legality of Canada Post's requirement for employees to disclose their COVID-19 vaccine status. Each plaintiff is seeking approximately $1.6 million in damages.

Posties Hold the Line is scheduled to address their case in federal court on March 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024. They tell The Canadian Independent that the defendants are working to dismiss the case; however, they remain hopeful that their case will proceed.

Those interested in attending the hearing via Zoom can do so by sending an email with the case reference number to obtain a Zoom link for listening in on the proceedings.
