This video discusses how we are starting to map Earth's magnetic field through the past using a technique called "Archaeomagnetic Dating", and how we can then use those maps to date ancient artifacts which have been heated and cooled to form, like clay tablets, specifically ones with iron oxide particles that would record a magnetic fingerprint at the time of being formed.
