The lesson taught on March 3, 2024 was part 22 of the “Wisdom” study. Wayne covered Proverbs 21 and it was a continuation of the personal character from chapter 20. We took time to look ahead at Proverbs 30:4 KJV “4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?” We know the answers! His name is God, Jehovah and His son is Jesus Christ! Even in Proverbs is speaks of Christ. As we dived into chapter 21, we learned that to do what is right with justice and judgment is better than sacrifice. In Prov. 21:2 we learn that man sees himself at doing everything right and that in Prov. 21:4 a high look and a proud heart is not an acceptable sin offering! The ways of man and women and children have not changed. We see that in Prov. 21:9,19 KJV. God clearly does not like lying or false witnesses. We ended the lesson with the wisdom conveyed in Prov. 21:31 that in war, safety is with the Lord because eternal life is with him through the resurrection.

The scripture reading was from Proverbs 21:1-7 KJV “1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts. 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. 4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. 5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. 6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. 7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.”
